I am an avid haunted attraction lover but I’m generally ignorant about scare acting and the differences between our haunts here in America and the scares of Europe so I read this through kindle unlimited not knowing what to expect. I’m quite happy that I decided to give it a read. Being more interested in the operation of a haunt rather than acting I was surprised by how much I had learned from Mr. Rawlings. Everyone interested in the scare and haunted attraction industry should read this. Mr. Rawlings has been scare acting for over 15 years and does a wonderful job of breaking down the terminology behind scare attractions in a manner that anyone can follow.You’ll learn a bit of history and some of those differences between America and Europe, but more importantly (and the real strength of the book for non-actors) is the categorization of elements within the industry. The author categorizes the different types of attractions, actors, scare techniques, and even guests you might encounter (or find yourself thinking,” I’m certainly that type of guest!”) and how to intact with them.
